About Waverly Drive
In the spring of 2015, my husband and I bought our first home. It was a step both of us thought we were ready to make – especially after finding the perfect house! As time passed, we quickly learned that home ownership is not what it is all cracked up to be! Every time we saved up a little bit of money, something would break and we would have to shell out the hard-saved cash to fix or replace it. It is because of these missteps that I became what is known in the biz as a DIYer. It is so much cheaper, faster, and more satisfying to DIY something than it is to buy it at a store. Plus you get the added effect of being able to tell someone, “Yeah, I made that!”
You may have guessed by now where the name Waverly Drive came from. That’s right. Our first home was located on Waverly Drive. I picked the name because it fits well with the theme of DIY and homeownership – but I also picked the name because of the deep connotations of warmth, safety, and love our first homes have for us. Waverly Drive means the world to me and I hope it will mean something to each and every one of you too!
My name is Jonathan. As you may have read in the above paragraph, I am a proud DIYer! I am also a loving husband and doting father to 8 (yes, 8) beautiful fur-babies! Growing up, my mom loved to craft. She would have craft projects ready for my and my sister to do when we got home from school. That appreciation for crafting and DIY was passed on to me. Having no children of my own (yet!), I started this blog to share my ideas, thoughts, and how-tos with everyone who cares to lend an ear. My main influences right now are midcentury modern styled design mixed with bohemian flare. It means the world to me that you are here, reading this bio and taking a second out of you busy day to read one of my articles. I genuinely hope that you find something here that you love!
